The social media ban is coming ... are you ready?
The social media ban is coming ... are you ready?
What's happening?
The social media ban is less than one month away, but most students still have no idea what will happen.
The Government has raised the minimum age for social media use, effectively banning children under 16 years old from using social media.
That means that as of 10 December 2025, children under 16 won’t be allowed to access their accounts on platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Reddit, YouTube, Snapchat and more.
Without well-rounded support, this massive shift may leave your kids feeling anxious, disconnected, and overwhelmed.
Why this matters for you:
Students are anxious: Students don’t understand what’s happening, why it’s important or how it will impact them.
Teachers don’t have time: Most teachers don’t have time or resources to research the social media ban or plan additional lessons.
Schools will feel the fallout: Schools will bear the brunt of the mental health impacts that will arise if students aren’t prepared for the ban.
